Expansion into New Growth Areas

SEOUL – LG Electronics is aggressively expanding its business-to-business (B2B) portfolio, targeting future growth sectors beyond its traditional consumer goods. The company has identified electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, robotics, and digital health as key strategic pillars.

Under its Vehicle component Solutions (VS) division, LG is developing a comprehensive ecosystem for EV charging, including AC and DC chargers and energy management systems. This move aligns with the global EV infrastructure boom and leverages its expertise in power electronics.

Simultaneously, LG is commercializing its robotics technology, initially developed for in-house logistics, into solutions for hospitality, retail, and healthcare. Its CLOi ServeBot and GuideBot are being deployed in various pilot programs globally.

In digital health, the company is building on its acquisition of Apple Watch maker’s R&D team, focusing on developing wearable devices and home health management platforms. This B2B expansion represents a crucial part of LG’s long-term vision to diversify its revenue streams and reduce cyclical dependency on the consumer electronics market.
