Strategic Shift & Premium Focus

SEOUL – LG Electronics Inc. reported a significant rise in its fourth-quarter operating profit, outperforming market expectations. The robust earnings are largely attributed to the company’s successful shift toward high-margin premium home appliances and its industry-leading television business.

The Home Appliance & Air Solution (H&A) division, LG’s core revenue driver, saw strong sales of premium products like styler clothing care systems, Objet collection appliances, and built-in kitchen suites, particularly in the North American market. This focus on the premium segment has helped offset global market softness and inflationary pressures.

In the TV sector, the Home Entertainment (HE) division capitalized on demand for high-end OLED models. LG’s dominance in the OLED panel market and its emphasis on next-generation displays like QNED and large-screen formats contributed to solid profitability. The company stated that its strategic pivot from volume to value is yielding tangible results, improving overall revenue mix and brand positioning against competitors.

Analysts note that while challenges remain in the competitive mid-range market and the vehicle component solutions division faces scaling hurdles, LG’s commitment to innovation in premium home management and entertainment is strengthening its financial resilience.
