I haven’t written a blog in a very long time. Too much. At this time, there are more than 160,000,000 blogs online. That’s 160 million blogs competing for readers’ attention in the great internet!

So, why have I neglected mine? I can only respond that I’ve been too busy, but is that sufficient justification? It is not, given the advantages of blogging.

So, what advantages does blogging bring? My top ten include:

1) Improves your position in search results.

Do you want to appear first in Google results? Next, blog. A blog provides dynamic, changing content, which is what Google and other search engines adore. Make sure your blog talks about things that are important to your business, use strategic keywords in the content, and make sure this is what your ideal customer is looking for. You appear in their search results, hey presto!

2) Attract new visitors and retain existing ones In line with point number one, altering the content will both attract new visitors and keep existing visitors returning for more. If you play your cards right, this will result in new clients or customers.

3) Establish yourself as an authority By writing blog posts that provide solutions to common issues and questions, you become an authority in that field and the industry’s “go-to” person. Therefore, identify the issues that your potential customers are experiencing, provide a solution to that issue in a comprehensive post, and allow them to locate you.

4) Form a community of devoted advocates Once people realize that your blog is timely and useful, you will amass an army of followers who eagerly await each issue and are willing to recommend you to their friends and networks.

5) Highlight a product or service in a blog post, share it with your network, and encourage them to spread the word about your new product or service.

6) Get feedback right away Every blog ought to have a comment section. Your readers will be able to express their opinions of you, your writing, your company, and/or your service or product to you as a result of this. This makes it easier for you to make changes quickly and correctly.

7) Collect emails The comments section is another great place to collect emails; if you plan to use them in this way, please let people know. After that, you can add these to your mailing list and provide them with additional products or services.

8) Get a lot of information from researching topics for blog posts. Reading is necessary for writing, and reading is learning.

9) Expand your network By requesting guest posts or bloggers, you can expand your network. You’ll meet people and businesses that share your interests as well as theirs. How might you work together? In what ways does their company complement yours?

10) Get better at writing blogs It’s hard, but the more you do them, it gets easier. Honestly.

So when did you last blog?
