LG Electronics India has reported a steep\u00a061.58% year-on-year decline<\/strong>\u00a0in net profit for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, posting a profit of just\u00a0\u20b989.67 crore<\/strong>, compared to \u20b9233.45 crore during the same period last year.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s revenue from operations also fell by 6% to\u00a0\u20b94,114 crore<\/strong>. This marks the second quarterly result for LG Electronics India since its stock market listing in October 2025.<\/p>\n

Reasons for the Decline & Management Commentary<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the company\u2019s official statement, the sharp decline in profitability was primarily driven by a\u00a0significant post-Diwali slowdown in consumer demand<\/strong>. While raw material prices remained relatively stable, elevated operational costs continued to pressure margins.<\/p>\n

Additionally, LG India opted\u00a0not to engage in aggressive discounting<\/strong>\u00a0to boost sales, instead choosing to\u00a0protect its brand equity and premium positioning<\/strong>, which further compressed short-term profitability.<\/p>\n

Despite the disappointing numbers,\u00a0Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon<\/strong>\u00a0expressed optimism for the upcoming summer quarter.<\/p>\n

Following the earnings announcement,\u00a0LG Electronics India\u2019s share price fell by as much as 8.35%<\/strong>\u00a0in early trading, touching\u00a0\u20b91,392<\/strong>\u00a0per share. The stock recovered some losses by mid-session, trading approximately\u00a03.8% lower<\/strong>\u00a0than the previous close.<\/p>\n

Despite the weak results,\u00a0ICICI Securities<\/strong>\u00a0has maintained a\u00a0\u2018BUY\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0rating on the stock.<\/p>\n
